Five Themes of Geography Reflection

I think that by Analysing the world using the five themes of geography will help people understand connections between people and the earth by helping them understand the climate, weather, and physical geography of a place. For example if someone wanted to go to greenland people would need to know that the climate there is cold and to bring warm cloths. they would also need to know what the weather is like at greenland.

I think the most difficult theme of geography to understand is region because, it can be hard to recognise patterns sometimes. for example it is confusing when people in the same country speak different languages.

  1. Lexie, your comment has a lot of quality details. A few spelling errors, and some words you didn’t capitalize.
The important things i understood from your paragraph is that it is very important to understand the five themes of geography. I also got the point that people that live in the same country might speak different languages. It is important to know what language people are speaking in order to communicate with them. One thing I did not follow you on is why we need to know the physical geography of a place. It would be better if you explained some points you make more clearly.
Based on what you wrote I agree with you on most of the information. I, too, think that the region theme is quite hard to understand. Ii is because one country can be in more than one region, and it is pretty confusing.
While I was reading through your post, I found myself wondering about you saying that we need to know the climate and the weather of the place. The climate of a place is the weather that lasts for a long period of time. I don’t believe we need to know both.
Overall, good job on your reflection!

    1. Lera, I think that your comment is very nice and thoughtful. I appreciate that you agree with me when I say that it is important to understand the 5 themes of geography and that it is important to understand that people in the same country may speak different languages and that it is important to know the language that they speak. I agree with you on how the physical geography of a place may be a bit irrelevant to what is most important, however in some cases it may be important, for example if you wanted to go to the border of india and china, you would need to know that there is the himalayas that would be an obstacle that you would have to work around. Thank you so much for your thoughtful comment.
